Payment for Our Services

At Vision, we like to feel that the most important thing is that you receive value for money and a job well done.

When we receive an enquiry we offer a free preliminary meeting with no obligation on either side. This gives us a chance to discuss and establish your financial needs and objectives in a friendly and confidential manner.

After the initial free consultation, as Independent Financial Advisers (IFA) we are able to offer you two payment options. Either you can pay us a fee or we are paid out of the cost of any financial product you buy (commission). We will always tell you about any commission we earn and it will be taken into account in working out our fee.

To clarify, commission is paid to an IFA firm by the chosen product provider, typically an insurance company or an investment house. The commission is included within the provider's normal product charges, so there is nothing you need to pay us in addition. The amount of commission is based on a percentage of the premiums payable or sums invested.

Fees will usually be based on time spent and evaluated at a rate per hour calculated to recover our costs.

We would always discuss these remuneration options with you beforehand to agree on the best way forward and no charges for fees will be made without prior notification in writing.

Broker fees may be payable for mortgage advice. These would typically be 0.35% of the loan we arrange for you. However, we will discuss your payment options with you and confirm the actual amount payable before we begin to provide our services.
