The Blackthorn Villagers Cookery Book
A fine feast of local recipes can be found in The Blackthorn Villagers Cookery Book, which has been compiled by the residents of Blackthorn in aid of a good cause.
Vision is proud to get involved in this local village fund raising publication with all the proceeds going towards creating a community child play area, much needed in the village of Blackthorn, near Bicester.
The Blackthorn Recreational Committee, in particular Mrs Sandie Stevenson, has been working hard over the last seven months to collect recipes from all the residents of Blackthorn in order to compile a village cookery book. Recipes that have been in the families for generations including the local MP, Tony Baldry's top tips on making the perfect chocolate brownies! Celebrity chef Rick Stein also features one of his seafood recipes in the book along with others from well established Michelin-Star restaurants in the area. The committee have set a £150,000 target to create a community park and sports area to cater for the youth in Blackthorn Village.
