Pete Goss supports Vision

This Summer we were fortunate enough to have local hero Pete Goss take to the stage at the National Maritime Museum with an awe-inspiring talk about some of his epic sailing adventures.

The evening was hosted by ourselves and our business associates Foot Anstey Solicitors and Briants Chartered Accountants.

With the use of his nautical images and exhilarating video clips of his many sailing ventures and projects, Pete Goss captivated the audience by humbly recalling some of his most challenging journeys he has experienced to date with tales of the highs and lows on the mighty seas.  This ended with his most recent journey of sailing a 37ft wooden lugger, The Spirit of Mystery, 11,800 miles from Newlyn to Australia to recreate the original courageous voyage made by seven Cornishmen 154 years ago. From the building of the lugger to the trials on the seas to the celebration arrival in Australia, the passion was evident in Pete's voice, helping the audience understand the motivation behind the man!

The evening also focused on raising awareness and money for the charity ‘Playing For Success, of which Pete Goss is a founding member, helping children to realise their potential through organised sport and outward bound courses.  By using these experiences and relating them back to education, it helps the children to build their confidence and vision.

One client commented ‘'We really enjoyed Pete Goss's presentation, truly absorbing and inspirational from one of the UK's greatest unsung stars.''

Pete Goss was described as a fantastic ambassador for the South West and a true inspiration both for his many incredible projects as well as his commitment to local charities like Cornwall Playing for Success.

The evening was a true success and provided a great opportunity for us as a local business to work together with Briants Chartered Accountants and Foot Anstey Solicitors in the circle of professional services in Cornwall.

Both Paul Sweaton, Managing Director of Vision Independent Financial Planning Ltd and Tom Briant, Senior Partner of Briants Chartered Accountants commented on how fantastic it was to see over 150 clients from three different local firms brought together to enjoy such a unique event, and to celebrate three businesses working together successfully despite the difficult economic conditions.

A big thank you to Pete for a great evening!
